Internationally Renowned Artist Gives Visual Voices Lecture

Preston Jackson

Renowned Peoria artist Preston Jackson spoke on "The Whereabout of Pap's People" as part of Bradley University's Visual Voices Lecture Series.

Jackson, who is serving as Cradle Oak Press visiting printmaker at Bradley, gave a presentation in the Horowitz Auditorium of the Caterpillar Global Communications Center.

Known for his sculpture and other artwork, as well as musical jazz performances, this was Jackson's first venture into the art of printmaking. Oscar Gillespie, who teaches art at Bradley and is the founding coordinator of the Cradle Oak Press, says the press offers assistance with the mechanical aspects of printmaking to its visiting artists.
