Interactive Media
The Interactive Media program prepares students to be critical thinkers in a continually evolving field that required interdisciplinary, theoretical and application knowledge in the design, development and production of interactive media. The program requires completion of core courses in interactive media development, authoring, scripting, video, new media theory, and design. Student will “specialize” in an area with consultation with their adviser. Specialty areas may focus on gaming, animation, music technology or virtual environments.
Within the Interactive Media department, all students must take a set of core requirements that give them experience in all areas of the Interactive Media concentrations. All students must earn a C or better in these core classes. Students may not enroll in Interactive Media courses for which a core course is a prerequisite unless they have earned a C or better in the core course.
In addition to the Interactive Media core requirements, there are a variety of other required courses to emphasize and enhance skills learned from core courses.
Within the Interactive Media program, students must choose one concentration from the three available in the department. These include Animation and Visual Effects, Game Design, and Web and Application Design.
