United States Institute for Theatre Technology Student Chapter
Welcome to the Bradley University Theater Department! We are the BU Student Chapter of the United States Institute of Theater Technology, a national organization of theatrical designers, tech crews and managers. USITT is dedicated to promoting the advancement of knowledge and skills of its members. This is our seventh year of operation and the 50th year anniversary of the founding of USITT.
As an organization, we strive to embody these ideals:
We are pleased to sponsor an annual trip to the USITT National Conference. The Conference is the best opportunity to see what is on the cutting edge of theater tech in this country, and to explore theater in other countries via USITT’s international connections. The BU USITT chapter strives to help its members by covering as much as the cost as possible, through fundraisers and student grants. This year the Conference is in Kansas City, Missouri on March 31 – April 3. As it is the 50th Anniversary of the USITT Conference, we are working especially hard on sending a strong delegation.
If you are interested in becoming a part of the Bradley chapter of USITT, we meet on Wednesdays @ 5:00 PM in the LAB Theater. Or contact Forrest Sayrs at fsayrs@gmail.com. You do not need to be a theater major or minor. Just sign up and we’ll welcome you with open arms.
