Student Recital - Kelsey Klopfenstein, violin
Kelsey Klopfenstein, a Senior Violin Performance Major, will present a violin recital at Dingeldine Music Center, 1417 W. Barker Avenue, on Saturday, March 24 at 7:30 PM.
Kelsey studies violin with Marcia Henry Liebenow, Bradley Music Department faculty member and Concertmaster of the Peoria Symphony Orchestra. Kelsey is the 2011-2012 Presser Scholar. Kelsey plays with the Bradley Symphony Orchestra and the Peoria Symphony Orchestra in addition to teaching private violin lessons. She studies conducting with Brian Dollinger and this past January conducted the BSO in concert. After graduation, Kelsey plans to spend a year in Haiti teaching music at the Ecole Sainte Trinité in Port-au-Prince, and then pursue graduate studies in conducting and violin. Kelsey is the daughter of Wayne and Carol Klopfenstein of Peoria.
Kelsey’s recital program includes Sonata No. 1 in G Major by Johannes Brahms, Sonata No. 2 in A Minor by J.S Bach, and Pablo Sarasate’s Zigeunerweisen. Kelsey will be assisted by Andrea Molina on piano.
