“Printmaking And Book Arts In Situ”

April 4th and 5th, 2013

This year’s Inland Center symposium at Bradley University presents conversations about the production of visual culture in the Midwest. The 2-day event will be unique in that it will concentrate on the nature of Prints and Artists Books in the region. To more fully represent the structure and history of these mediums we are including studio demonstrations by two of the most respected practitioners of their disciplines. We will also screen “Midwest Matrix”, a documentary about the history of Midwest Printmaking and offer lectures and a panel discussion with national leaders in Printmaking and Book Arts. The symposium will take place with the “34th Bradley International Print & Drawing Exhibition” as its backdrop. Two specially curated Book Arts Exhibitions will run concurrently – “Bookness” at Bradley’s Hartmann Gallery and “Endpapers” at Peoria’s Backspace Collective.

The symposium is free and open to the public. There is no registration but please RSVP to Judy Tomlinson at….. judi@fsmail.bradley.edu or call 309-677-2967 if you plan on attending.  Students do not need to register or RSVP.
