Department of Theatre Presents Shakespeare's The Tempest
Bradley University Theatre continues its 2011-2012 season with William Shakespeare’s magical and moving THE TEMPEST, in the Hartmann Center of the Performing Arts with limited performances on February 16 at 8:00 PM (Preview) and March 6, 7, & 8 at 8:00 PM.
THE TEMPEST is a play that has delighted audiences for over 400 years presenting a “brave new world” of wonder, comedy, and romance. This magical masterpiece, believed to be Shakespeare’s last complete work, follows the great wizard Prospero who, along with his daughter Miranda, has been banished from his dukedom in Milan to an isolated island. Prospero uses his sorcery to conjure a storm to shipwreck the usurpers of his throne and lure them to the heart of the island, where they are drawn into a web of magical spells, love at first sight, and old revenges that only Prospero’s forgiveness – and some otherworldly assistance – can remedy.
Tickets prices for the general public are $10, $9 for Bradley Faculty, Staff and Senior Citizens, and $5 for Students Tickets can be purchased at the Hartmann Center Box Office or by calling (309) 677-2650. Reservation requests can be made on-line by visiting Bradley University Theatre’s website at http://theatre.bradley.edu. Group discounts are available for groups 10 or more.
