AUDITIONS - There are three parts to the music audition process at Bradley. I. Performing (8 to 15 minutes)The audition should consist of two or three contrasting selections which best demonstrate the student's performing ability. (Vocalists and pianists should memorize their selections.) Sightreading and scales may also be required as part of the audition process. II. Interview (15 to 20 minutes)Each applicant will have the opportunity to meet faculty in an interview situation. This process not only allows the faculty to become more familiar with each student and his/her career objectives, but also allows the student the opportunity to ask questions of faculty. III. Basic Theory Exam (30 minutes)Each student will be required to take a basic music theory examination. Theory is an integral part of all music curricula, and results of this exam will give the faculty a better understanding of each student's knowledge of music in this area. Students are urged to apply for admission to the University and then arrange for an audition at the earliest convenient date. March 1st is the application deadline for those desiring a Fine Arts Scholarship. Entrance auditions may be done at any time, however, students who submit auditions by audio or videotape, and students who audition after March 1st will only be considered for admission to the music program and they will not qualify for music scholarship support.
