Associate Professor of Music
Stephen Heinemann is Associate Professor of Music at Bradley University where he teaches music theory, composition, and clarinet, and is music director of the new-music ensemble Peoria Lunaire. Dr. Heinemann is a member of the Peoria Symphony Orchestra with which he plays clarinet and E-flat clarinet. He is also lead alto saxophonist with the Central Illinois Jazz Orchestra and several small groups. He has recently performed at the jazz festivals of Vienne (France), Montreux and Brienz (Switzerland), and Umbria and Tuscany (Italy). He received his bachelor's and master's degrees in composition from San Francisco State University and his Doctor of Musical Arts degree in composition from the University of Washington.
