Affiliate Instructor of Music
Shirley Salazar serves on the Voice Faculty at Bradley University. She also is the conductor of the Peoria Cooperative Academy Chorale and Worship leader at Peoria Christian Fellowship Church. She maintains a private voice studio, which includes younger and mature singers, as well. Many of her students have gone on to successful careers in music as teachers, conductors, choir members, jazz singers, and in musical theater. Mrs. Salazar received her B.A. in Music Education from Northeastern Illinois University and obtained her graduate training in Vocal Performance at Depaul University in Chicago, Illinois. A member of National Association of Teachers of Singing, Illinois Music Educators Association, and Music Educators National Conference, her students have won and placed highly in competitions and festivals sponsored by these organizations.
