Affiliate Instructor of Music
Peter Wessler is currently in his thirtieth year teaching strings for the Peoria Public Schools. For the past 25 years he has served primarily as the orchestra director at Woodruff High School, and this year also conducts the string program at Manual High School. In addition to his duties with District 150, he serves as District 2 Orchestra Representative for the Illinois Music Educators’ Association, choir director at Trinity Lutheran Church in Pekin, and violinist in the Peoria Symphony Orchestra and the Peoria Bach Festival. In the summer he serves as Summer Academy Director for the Lutheran Summer Music Academy & Festival, where he also coaches the viols for the Collegium Musicum. Mr. Wessler holds degrees in music education from Bradley University and Illinois State University.
