Music Scholarship Concert Series - Bradley Symphony Orchestra Concerto Aria Winners Concert

The Bradley Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Music Director and Conductor Mr. Brian Dollinger, will present its next concert of the 2011-2012 Concert Season on Sunday, March 4th, at 3:00pm in the Dingeldine Music Center, 1417 W. Barker Avenue.
 
The Bradley Symphony Orchestra will be performing a variety of symphonic works.  The concert will include winners of this year’s Annual Concerto/Aria Student Competition.  This year the winners are Kelsey Klopfenstein performing the first movement from Prokofiev’s 2nd Violin Concerto in G minor; Soprano, Emily Volz will be performing Ach, ich fuhl’s es ist verschwunden from Mozart’s Magic Flute; and Kyle Mills will be performing the first movement to Johann Baptist Georg Neruda’s Trumpet Concerto in E-flat.  The concert will conclude with one of the most famous symphonic works ever written:  The Moldau by Smetana.  

This is the sixth year that the Bradley Symphony Orchestra has been under the direction of Mr. Dollinger.  Mr. Dollinger is a native of Morton, IL, and he first performed with the BSO as a double bassist in the late 1980’s under the direction of Dr. John Jost. Mr. Dollinger is also the instructor of Double Bass, and Conducting at Bradley University.  Mr. Dollinger is also the Music Director and Conductor of the Muscatine Symphony Orchestra (IA), Clinton Symphony Orchestra (IA), and the Conductor of the Central Illinois Youth Symphony.
