Her dissertation, ÏIllustrations of the Miracles of the Virgin in English Books of Hours, discusses the iconography of illustrations of Marian miracles appearing in devotional books made for women in late Medieval England. Her study of medieval art extends beyond the page to encompass issues regarding the devotional practices of medieval women and the power of the devotional image.
