Admission

At Bradley you can major in different content areas, including Ceramics, Art History, Drawing, Graphic Design, Painting, Printmaking, Photography and Sculpture. The art Department is housed in the 33,000 sq. ft. Heuser Art Center that is equipped with high-speed wireless internet and sate of the art studios in Ceramics, Painting, Printmaking, Drawing, Photography, Graphic Design and a professional exhibitions program. The department also houses the nationally known Cradle Oak Press, a professional printmaking collaborative that brings renowned artists to Bradley to work together with students and faculty.

As faculty we are committed to the idea that art is an intellectual as well as manual skill-based disciplined. Our students are trained to recognize the significance of tradition and contemporary criticism on their identities as artists and designers. We also pay tribute to the history of visual culture in the central portion of the United States and the contribution that Inland Art has made on national and global art discourse.

 

Department of Art Fine Arts Talent Scholarship

The Department of Art at Bradley University offers competitive scholarships to art students with talent and motivation. The department faculty strongly believes that funding for talented studio artists in essential. If you are interested in apply for a scholarship, and you have already been admitted to the University, the process is simple:

  • Submit 12 – 20 images of your best work on a CD or DVD. Images should demonstrate a variety of work and can include any media. All images should be in .jpg format, and be at least 1000 pixels in length on the smallest side. The file size should be no smaller than 1 MB. Disks will not be returned. 
  • Include a typed images list, identifying the images on your CD/DVD with title, media, and date of each work of art pictured. The image list should clearly correspond to the files names on your CD/DVD.
  • Complete the application form, available in the art department office. To contact the office and request an application please contact us at (309) 677-2967. 

All applications are due at Bradley by March 1st. This is NOT a postmark deadline. Applications will not be accepted after this date. Please send all materials directly to the address listed below. Do not send your scholarship application to the admissions office. 

The entire Bradley University Department of Art faculty will review the applications. The faculty will be looking for strong evidence of talent. Scholarships are not related to family income or connected with any other grants or scholarships. Scholarships are continued from year to year according to academic standards and regulations established for the scholarship. If you are not awarded a schoalrship you may reapply the following year. You may also apply in subsequent years for an increase in the amount awarded.
